Noah Ostrow, AKA Knows Nothing, is a self taught music producer / deejay from San Diego. He presents a refined sound that strives to create and explore every relationship of frequencies, space and time and how they interact to create spiritual and thought provoking moments. Drawing inspiration from science fiction, music and otherwise, you can expect to find something more beneath the deep low that he loves to bring with him.
Exploring ideas and emotions through music is the method that he chose to convey his deep and futuristic techno sound.
What have you been up to?
Lately I’ve been making a lot of music, I’ve been spending a lot of time on production lately – it’s definitely where I want to focus most of my energy on. I’ve also been busy planning and creating events with the UT team, we’re always focused on the next event – it’s a ton of fun, but obviously a lot of work.
How and where did you record the mix?
For this mix, I just recorded it at home on my Allen & Heath DB4. I’ve been sitting on tracks with this specific vibe for awhile and I’m looking forward to sharing them with Peace Portal’s audience.
Tell us a bit about the mix!
For this mix I really wanted to explore a different kind house music. In club settings it’s harder to achieve a vibe that isn’t “party-based”, so with my mixes I like to experiment. This mix features a lot of artists from Barcelona and Germany – Afro-house artists usually aren’t based in the U.S.
What are you up to next?
As for what’s coming up, Underground Transmissions has a bunch of shows lined up this summer. Our biggest one being the warehouse party we’re throwing in Seattle on the 21st of July. Lubelski will be headlining that show and it’s our first break into the Seattle scene! Strattcat and I will also be laying down the tunes at Boundary Bay on the July 18th for the After Sounds: Techno Showcase. Hope to see y’all out there, thank you for listening!
